How to Use
- Stop the car, turn off the engine, remove the key, and open the hood.
- Lock the door and wait for the vehicle to enter sleep mode.
- Clamp the spring clip onto the negative battery terminal post.
- Attach the black clip to the negative battery cable clamp and the red clip to the positive terminal.
- Loosen the negative battery terminal nut and disconnect the cable from the post.
- Read the current value on the digital display (e.g., 50 mA displays as 0.05 A).
- After testing, remove the device first, then reconnect the negative battery cable to avoid sparking.
Note: Different vehicle models have different sleep times — allow the vehicle to fully enter sleep mode before reading. Do NOT start the engine during testing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What vehicles is this battery leakage detector compatible with?
A: This parasitic draw detector is compatible with a wide range of vehicles including cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, and lawnmowers. It can also be used with other equipment such as printers that have 12V electrical systems.
Q: What current range does this battery leakage detector measure?
A: The tool measures standby and parasitic current starting from 30 mA. For most common vehicles, the ideal standby current is between 20–50 mA. If the display reads 0, it indicates no detectable current leakage. The included 10A fuse protects the unit during measurement.
Q: Can I use this detector while the engine is running?
A: No — you must turn off the engine and remove the key before using this battery leakage detector. Running the engine during testing may damage the built-in fuse. Always wait for the vehicle to fully enter sleep mode before taking a reading for the most accurate results.
Q: What does the relay testing function do?
A: The built-in relay tester with digital voltage display allows you to quickly identify faulty or failing relays in your vehicle's electrical system. This makes the tool a true multi-functional diagnostic device for both battery leakage and relay circuit testing.
