Usage Tips & Precautions
- Always rest the soldering iron in a stand or holder — never place the hot tip on an unprotected surface.
- Do not use strongly acidic flux, as it may damage the tip.
- Never strike the tip with tools such as a hammer — this will cause damage.
- When re-tinning the tip, lightly polish with fine sandpaper and re-immerse in flux at approximately 250°C for best results.
- Do not remove electrical components while the iron is powered on.
- On first use, some light smoke may occur during the initial heat-up as the heating element cures — this is normal and will stop within approximately 10 minutes.
- Note: This iron uses a China-type plug (220V). If your local outlet is different, please prepare a suitable adapter before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What wattage soldering iron should I choose for electronics work?
A: For delicate electronics, PCB work, and small components, the 100W or 150W pointed-tip options are ideal. For heavier-duty tasks such as joining thicker metals or large copper joints, the 200W or 300W elbow-tip models provide the extra thermal mass needed for clean, strong welds.
Q: Does this soldering iron work in countries outside of China?
A: This soldering iron is rated for 220V / 50Hz power. It is compatible with most countries that use 220–240V mains power. The plug is a China-type (Type A/I), so you may need a plug adapter for your local outlets. It is NOT compatible with 110V supplies (e.g. USA/Canada) without a step-up voltage converter.
Q: Why does the iron produce smoke when first switched on?
A: On the very first use, the heating element may emit a small amount of light smoke as protective coatings on the new element burn off during the initial heat cycle. This is completely normal and will naturally stop within about 10 minutes of use.
Q: Is the handle safe to hold during extended soldering sessions?
A: Yes. The handle features a double-insulation structure that keeps the grip area significantly cooler than the iron's working tip, allowing for comfortable extended use without discomfort.
