Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this BBQ grill thermometer a meat thermometer?
A: No — this grill thermometer is designed to measure the ambient air temperature inside your grill or smoker dome, not the internal temperature of meat. It mounts on the outer surface of your grill lid or dome to give you an accurate reading of the overall cooking environment.
Q: What grills and smokers is this thermometer compatible with?
A: This BBQ thermometer is compatible with most charcoal grills, wood smokers, ceramic grills, and kettle-style grills that have an existing thermometer hole or can accommodate a 3.15-inch probe stem. It is also widely used in ovens and for light industrial temperature monitoring applications.
Q: Will condensation or steam damage the thermometer?
A: Light fogging on the glass lens can occur in high-steam environments, but this is temporary and will clear as temperatures rise. For best performance, use the thermometer as intended on the outer dome surface of a grill or smoker rather than submerging it in liquids.
